DEAR SUPERVISOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS

   MY NEIGHBORHOOD HAS ALSO FALLEN VICTIM TO DAILY HOUSE RENTALS.  WE
NEED TO PUT SOME SERIOUS REGULATIONS ON THIS KIND OF BUSINESS.  IT IS A
BUSINESS WITHOUT THE OWNER PRESENT TO OVERSEE THE ACTIVITIES.   THE
OWNER IS MAKING GOOD MONEY WHILE THE REGULAR FOLKS HAVE TO ENDURE THE
PARTY MENTALITY OF THE TENANTS.   WE ARE NOT THE PARTY FORK NOR DID I
CHOOSE TO LIVE IN THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD TO BECOME BOMBARDED WITH ROWDY
PARTY PEOPLE THAT DO NOT CARE ABOUT US.  WE ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE
SOUTH FORK SO OVERFLOW WILL BE CREEPING IN.  IF THE SOUTH FORK TOWNS PUT
REGULATIONS IN PLACE SO MUST SOUTHOLD.


    HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON HOW TO MANAGE THIS SITUATION:


NO HOUSE RENTALS LESS THAN 30 DAYS


MUST REGISTER AS A BUSINESS WITH THE TOWN JUST LIKE A MOTEL,HOTEL OR
B&B.


A TWO (2) PERSON PER BEDROOM LIMIT ON OCCUPANCY.


IF THERE IS A SWIMMING POOL ON SITE A 9 PM CURFEW NEEDS TO BE OBEYED.
    ANNUAL POOL SAFETY INSPECTION BY THE TOWN.


NO EXTRA GUESTS AFTER 9 PM.    A THREE BEDROOM CAN ONLY HAVE 6 PEOPLE
AFTER 9 PM.


TOWN INSPECTION ANNUALLY FOR FIRE ALARM--EXTINGUISHERS, CO DETECTORS AND
OTHER SAFETY NECESSITIES LIKE STAIR HANDRAILS ETC.


NO PARKING ON UNPAVED AREAS SUCH AS LAWNS IN THE FRONT OF THE DWELLING.
   THE WESTERNERS ARE HERE AND THIS NEW LAW SHOULD APPLY TO EVERYONE
IN THE TOWN IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS.


WE ARE ALSO FEELING LESS SAFE WITH TRANSIENT UNKNOWN NEIGHBORS.  OUR
PEACEFUL QUIET LIFE IS GETTING DISRUPTED.
